According to the National Curriculum Council, students from class six to eight will be given the option to choose either computer science or Artificial Intelligence, while students from class nine to twelve will be able to opt for Artificial Intelligence as an elective subject.

Students from nursery to class five will study the subject as a non credit course without examinations. The curriculum aims to build skills in computational thinking, intelligent systems, robotics, ethical technology use, and problem solving.

  • Good decision now all govts should change caricuiliam according to new requirements young people are moving with degrees not getting job and are frustrating

    • Just think about the students they already have so much burden and after this they will get more pressurised. We want them to student with peace and have a good life. You can send ur children abroad then due to that they will get a job everywhere.

  • Probably there is no one in education ministry with some sense and are uneducated. AI is not a subject that can be taught at this level. They will fill the books with knowledge and there will be no skill based activity that students can benefit from. Do they even have a Lab to teach this subject or the required tools needed. They just needed to add a chapter to the existing subject and gradually move forward. I don’t know if they have even basic education themsleves and they are designing policies.

  • The dinosaurs sitting atop these educational boards don’t know shit about modern Computer Science curriculums and our fsc books still have Turbo C/C++ that too extremely basic. And now they’re going to be responsible for teaching AI to kids 😂😂

  • Good step forward. My school (International Islamic School of Excellence G11-1) is already conducting classes of AI from Grade 5 to Grade -7 since last year.

  • The Islamabad government’s initiative to introduce Artificial Intelligence education in schools is commendable; however, it has been implemented quite late. This step should have been taken much earlier and in all over the Pakistan. Timely introduction of AI education could have significantly reduced unemployment among students today
