RDA Launches Strict Action Against Famous Housing Scheme

The Rawalpindi Development Authority has launched legal action against the Faisal Town Housing Scheme over serious violations of approved regulations.

An RDA spokesperson said the authority registered a first information report at the Airport Police Station against the owner of Faisal Town and other members of its management. With police assistance, authorities arrested the brother of the housing scheme’s owner during the operation.

The spokesperson said the management committed major violations of the approved layout plan. These included failing to begin development work on the sewerage treatment plant, not allotting 53 plots within the scheme, and failing to develop the designated nullah. The authority termed these actions clear violations of applicable rules and regulations.

According to the spokesperson, the RDA took action under the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976. The authority had issued multiple notices to the housing scheme’s administration, but the management did not address the violations within the given timeframe.

RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza said the authority would continue strict legal action against all illegal housing schemes and those violating approved regulations without discrimination.

She said the RDA would protect citizens’ rights and interests and directed concerned officers to intensify operations against other housing schemes found in violation of the rules.
