Islamabad Senior Citizens to Get 25% Discounts on Govt and Private Services

The National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior approved the Islamabad Senior Citizenship Bill 2025 on Tuesday, aiming to provide benefits to the city’s elderly residents.

The legislation grants senior citizens a 25 percent discount on selected government and private services, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

MNA Sharmila Farooqi, who presented the bill, said residents aged 60 and above could access the benefits through their National Identity Cards, removing the need for a separate senior citizen card.

During the meeting, MNA Nabeel Gabol suggested coordinating with NADRA, pointing out that fingerprints of some senior citizens may be unclear. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry added that if successful, the program could be expanded nationwide.

  • Very good move to facilitate senior citizens. It should be expanded and must be applied to whole country as well . I D card is sufficient evidence as senior citizen.
