Pakistan Customs recovered 1,185 grams of gold jewellery along with a commercial quantity of cosmetics, perfumes and handbags from a passenger arriving from the United States at the International Arrivals lounge of Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, officials said on Friday.

According to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the seized items are valued at approximately Rs. 58 million. The goods have been taken into custody and an FIR has been registered under the Customs Act, 1969.

In an official statement, the FBR spokesperson reiterated the authority’s commitment to curbing smuggling and ensuring strict enforcement of customs laws at all entry points across the country.

Authorities said vigilance at airports and other entry points has been enhanced as part of ongoing efforts to prevent illegal movement of goods and protect national revenue.
