PSL-Winning All-Rounder to Miss PSL 11 Player Auction

Lahore Qalandars’ star all-rounder David Wiese will not enter the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) Player Auction after confirming his withdrawal due to personal commitments.

The seasoned all-rounder shared the update in a video message, explaining that unforeseen circumstances and family priorities influenced his decision. Wiese said he wants to spend more time with his family after a professional career spanning around two decades.

However, he stressed that his decision is not a farewell to the league. David Wiese added that he still intends to return to the PSL  in the future.

He tweeted,

Gutted to be missing out on the PSL this year due to some family commitments. Will really miss being with my LQ family, but will continue cheering them on from home. This isn’t a permanent goodbye to PSL though! I’ll be back.

His absence could affect how franchises shape their overseas plans for the eleventh edition. As an experienced option who offers value in multiple roles, Wiese typically fits into several team combinations. Therefore, his unavailability may shift bidding strategies for sides targeting foreign all-rounders.

The PSL 11 Player Auction is scheduled for February 11. Both new and existing franchises are expected to finalize retention plans and identify priority targets ahead of the auction.

With Wiese out of the mix, attention will now turn to how Lahore Qalandars adjust their approach and which overseas player they choose as a replacement when the auction begins.
