PSO Formula Pakistan, a national STEM motorsport initiative powered by Badar Expo, successfully concluded its flagship competition on 31 January 2026 at the Expo Centre Karachi.
The event brought together 33 student teams from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Mirpurkhas, representing schools and high schools from across Pakistan. Participants, aged 14 to 19, took part in a structured, hands-on competition focused on engineering, innovation, teamwork, and applied problem-solving.
Throughout the competition, students worked in teams to design, build, and present functional model race cars, applying STEM concepts in a practical setting. Teams were evaluated across multiple dimensions, including technical design, construction quality, explanation of engineering decisions, and presentation of their ideas before a panel of judges drawn from academia and industry.
Formula Pakistan aims to move STEM education beyond classrooms by giving students exposure to real-world challenges that require creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. The competition framework emphasized learning, process, and participation, encouraging students to articulate not only what they built, but how and why they made key design choices.
Following cumulative evaluation across all competition categories, Team Aerionix was declared the overall winner.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of Formula Pakistan stated that the objective of the initiative is to build confidence, exposure, and opportunity for young students across Pakistan, particularly by providing access to experiential learning environments that connect education with industry and innovation.
The event concluded with award presentations and acknowledgements, reinforcing Formula Pakistan’s commitment to expanding its reach and strengthening Pakistan’s STEM ecosystem through future editions.
