Islamabad United have locked in their core picks ahead of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) Player Auction, retaining Shadab Khan, Salman Irshad, and Andre Gous across three categories.
Shadab, the franchise’s marquee all-rounder, has been kept in the Platinum category. However, retaining a player in Platinum also forces tough calls elsewhere.

With Shadab occupying that slot, Islamabad are expected to part ways with several notable names who were also in contention from higher brackets, including Naseem Shah, Imad Wasim, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Agha, and Mohammad Nawaz.
In the Gold category, Islamabad have retained pace bowler Salman Irshad. That decision is likely to reshape their middle-order and wicketkeeping options, as it means the franchise will likely release Azam Khan, Haider Ali, and Rumman Raees ahead of the auction.
United’s third retention comes in the Silver category, where they have kept South Africa batter Andre Gous, adding stability to their batting plans as they prepare for squad rebuilding around the draft.
With these three retentions confirmed, Islamabad United now head into the PSL 11 auction with clear priorities, and several big names potentially entering the draft pool as a result of category limitations.
