Sialkot Stallionz have secured a major name for the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) season, directly signing Australian batting star Steve Smith, according to sources.
Reports say the Pakistan Super League franchise completed Smith’s direct deal after the Australian cricketer weighed his options and opted for Sialkot based on the offer and the setup provided by the team management. Smith recently impressed in the 2025/26 Big Bash League (BBL 15), where he, alongside Babar Azam, delivered strong performances for Sydney Sixers.
The Sialkot Stallionz made the official announcement on their social media page, confirming all speculations and sending fans into a frenzy.
The signing follows another high-profile addition behind the scenes. Former Australia captain Tim Paine has been appointed as the head coach of Sialkot Stallionz, a decision the franchise announced on social media in recent days.
Sialkot Stallionz are one of the two new teams introduced for PSL 11. The franchise has been acquired by OZ Developers, and the team has been officially named Sialkot Stallionz to revive and celebrate the city’s long-standing cricket identity.
Smith has previously spoken about his interest in playing the PSL. The signing of Steve Smith is one of the biggest signings in the league’s history so far.
