Residents of Lahore have received positive news ahead of Basant. Senior officials of the power utility have announced that there will be no loadshedding during the Basant celebrations.
According to details, the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has taken special measures to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply and public safety. Protective nets have been installed at key grid stations, including Shah Alam and Shahi Qila grid stations.
Previously, metal kite strings falling on transformers or grid stations caused immediate power shutdowns. However, LESCO has now installed safety nets to prevent such incidents and maintain a continuous power supply during Basant.
To ensure uninterrupted electricity, LESCO has established a central control room at its headquarters. The control room will monitor the power system throughout the Basant period.
LESCO Chief Executive Muhammad Ramadan Butt said that all employee leave requests have been cancelled for three days during Basant.
He assured the public that LESCO will face no electricity quota issues. He added that the power supply will meet demand without interruption.
The LESCO chief further confirmed that there will be no loadshedding anywhere in the city during Basant. He reiterated that safety nets have been installed at Shah Alam and Shahi Qila grid stations to protect critical infrastructure from damage.
The announcement is expected to bring relief to citizens as Lahore prepares for Basant, with authorities aiming to ensure both safety and uninterrupted electricity supply during the festive days.
