Roti and Naan Prices Announced for Ramadan

The Pakistan Naanbai Association has announced that roti and naan prices will remain unchanged until 30th Ramazan, despite a sharp rise in the cost of flour, ghee, LPG, labor, electricity, and tandoor rents.

The decision was taken by the association’s General Council, which includes representatives from Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Murree, Talagang, and surrounding areas. The meeting was chaired by Central President Shafiq Qureshi.

The association stated that prices will increase after Eidul Fitr, with roti and naan becoming Rs. 5 more expensive, while paratha and roghni naan will see a Rs. 10 increase. The leadership said continuing operations at current prices has become financially unsustainable due to rising input costs.

According to the association, the price of a 79-kg flour bag has risen from Rs. 7,600 to Rs. 11,700, while fine flour increased from Rs. 8,200 to Rs. 12,600. Further increases of up to Rs. 2,200 per bag are expected by the end of Ramazan.

Commercial LPG cylinder prices have climbed to Rs. 16,000, while labor and utility costs have also increased significantly. The association criticized the district administration for failing to control input prices and warned that continued pressure could force tandoors to shut down after Eid.
