The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 41 kilograms of narcotics from cargo containers that arrived from South America at Karachi Port, officials said.
Sources confirmed that the seizure was carried out by the ANF’s Port Control Unit at the South Asian Port Terminal, where the illicit drugs were concealed inside imported containers.
The latest recovery follows a major operation in December last year, when the ANF intercepted 47 kilograms of cocaine at the South Asia Pakistan Container Terminal.
Since that incident, authorities have intensified screening and inspection of scrap containers originating from South American countries in an effort to curb drug smuggling through seaports.
Investigations into the latest seizure are underway to identify those involved in the trafficking network.
