The overall solar net-metering’s share in Pakistan’s total power generation increased by 14 basis points year-on-year (YoY) in December 2025, reflecting higher solar adoption and reduced reliance on the national grid, according to the latest data.
Arif Habib Limited (AHL) said that the overall power generation rose by 8.8 percent YoY during the month.
However, on a month-on-month basis, net metering units declined sharply by 56.3 percent in December, indicating a slowdown in additions compared with the previous month.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) expects power demand to grow by 1.0 percent YoY in calendar year 2026.
