The National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control has approved the Pakistan Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2025 and recommended it for passage by the National Assembly.
The meeting, chaired by MNA Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz at Parliament House, began with prayers for victims of the recent suicide attack at an Imambargah in Islamabad’s Tarlai area.
During the session, the committee also reviewed the Islamabad Capital Territory Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2025 but deferred further discussion to the next meeting.
Lawmakers and senior officials from the ministries of Interior, Law and Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs attended the meeting, along with the Director General of Passports.
