Parents Protest Inter Exam Fee Increase in Punjab

All education boards in Punjab have raised the fee for installing CCTV cameras at examination centers from Rs.30 to Rs.1,030 for the Intermediate annual exams scheduled for May 2026.

Authorities added the increased amount to the examination entry fee, triggering concern among students and parents over the sharp hike. During the previous Matric annual exams, boards had charged students Rs.30 each for CCTV installation.

The increase to Rs.1,030 for Intermediate candidates has sparked strong criticism across the province.

Parents have called on officials to withdraw the decision, arguing that educational institutions and examination authorities, not students, should cover the cost of installing surveillance cameras.

They said collecting millions of rupees from students for this purpose is unfair and unjustified.
