PM Takes Notice of NEPRA’s New Solar Regulations, Orders Protection of Existing Consumers

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken immediate notice of the new solar regulations issued by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) and instructed the Power Division to file a review petition.

The Prime Minister directed that the petition should focus on protecting the contracts of existing solar users to ensure their rights are fully safeguarded.

He emphasized that the burden of 466,000 solar users should not fall on the more than 37.6 million consumers who rely solely on the national grid.
