The Punjab government has officially launched Phase 2 of the Chief Minister’s Laptop Distribution Scheme across Lahore and other districts in the province.
According to an official statement, 60,000 students will receive laptops in the second phase under a pre-announced schedule. The announcement comes as the distribution process under Phase 1 continues across the province.
Sources said that the initial target for Phase 1 was to distribute laptops to 100,000 students. That process remains ongoing, with authorities carrying out distributions simultaneously with the launch of Phase 2 to ensure that as many eligible students as possible benefit from the program.
Officials stated that a total of 160,000 laptops will be distributed under the scheme.
Students are continuing to submit applications through the Higher Education Department (HED) portal, which remains open for registrations.
The government said the initiative aims to provide students with access to modern technology and to promote educational and research activities throughout the province.
