Islamabad Police have issued an official response to a letter submitted by mosque administrations in the federal capital requesting enhanced security measures.
In the written response, police instructed that at least one armed security guard must be stationed at mosques during prayer times. The security guard will be permitted to carry a weapon within the mosque premises.
According to the directive, parking will not be allowed at mosque entry and exit points or in surrounding areas. Mosques and imambargahs must maintain a single entry and exit route for worshippers.
The letter further states that street vendors, beggars, and the sale of caps or other items outside the main mosque gate will be prohibited.
Additionally, mosque administrations are instructed to immediately report any suspicious individuals, activities, or items inside mosque premises to the police.
The directive concludes that mosque and imambargah administrations must implement all instructions without delay. Legal action will be taken in case of non-compliance.
