Balochistan Launches Spring Tree Plantation Campaign

Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan formally inaugurated the Spring Tree Plantation Drive by planting a sapling, reiterating the provincial government’s resolve to protect the environment, curb pollution, and promote a healthier living environment for citizens.

The plantation campaign is part of a wider strategy by the Balochistan government to increase green cover and tackle the growing impacts of climate change. Authorities expect active participation from government departments, members of the public, and especially the youth during the drive.

Speaking at the ceremony, the chief secretary stressed that safeguarding forests and the environment is a shared responsibility and cannot be left to the government alone. He urged citizens to not only plant saplings but also take responsibility for their care until they grow into fully mature trees.

Shakeel Qadir Khan also directed concerned departments to ensure proper maintenance and a high survival rate of newly planted saplings so that the campaign delivers long-term environmental benefits.

The event was attended by Imran Gichki, along with other senior officials from the forest and administrative departments.
