The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it will remain closed for public dealing on the 1st of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, 1447 A.H., which will be observed as a bank holiday for the purpose of Zakat deduction.
Accordingly, all banks, development financial institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks (MFBs) will remain closed for public transactions on the specified date.
A notification was issued by the banking regulator earlier today.
However, all employees of banks, DFIs, and MFBs are required to attend the office on the bank holiday, which will be treated as a normal working day, except for public-facing services.
