The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Wednesday that the Ramadan moon has been sighted, and the first day of Ramadan will be observed across Pakistan on Thursday, February 19.
The committee met in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad to review reports of moon sighting received from different parts of the country. Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees also held meetings at their respective regional offices.
After examining testimonies and reports, the committee confirmed the sighting of the crescent and declared that Ramadan will begin on Thursday.
An official announcement followed the meeting, marking the start of the holy month across the country.
