Under the decision, all applications submitted until February 8 will be processed under the old framework, and applicants will continue to receive net metering facilities.

This applies to all distribution companies across the country, including K Electric. According to official data, a total of 5,165 applications have been submitted up to the cutoff date.

These projects are expected to add 250.822 megawatts of capacity to the national grid once approved.

The decision is expected to remove uncertainty surrounding pending applications and provide relief to consumers who had already applied under the earlier rules.

The minister has also directed authorities to ensure transparency in processing applications. Consumers have been advised to report any complaints through the helpline 188.
