The Balochistan government has decided to establish a modern Safe City Authority aligned with current security and technological requirements.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Tuesday. The meeting reviewed progress on ongoing Safe City projects in detail.
Officials informed the meeting that state-of-the-art surveillance cameras will be installed in major cities across the province under the initiative.
Chief Minister Bugti directed authorities to immediately remove administrative, technical, and financial obstacles and to speed up the pace of work. He assured that the provincial government will provide the necessary financial and technical resources on a priority basis to ensure timely completion.
The chief minister noted that after Punjab, Balochistan will become the second province to introduce a modern Safe City system. He described the project as a milestone for the province.
He emphasized that completing the Safe City projects will help reduce crime rates, improve traffic management, enhance emergency response times, and strengthen coordination among law enforcement agencies.
