CM KP Approves Electric Bus Service for Major Peshawar Road

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Wednesday approved the inclusion of a new general hospital for Peshawar and an electric bus project for the Peshawar Ring Road in the upcoming Annual Development Program.

He made the decision while chairing a consultative meeting of parliamentarians from the Peshawar region at Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad. Senators, MNAs and MPAs from the region attended the meeting, which focused on development priorities for the Provincial Annual Development Program 2026–27.

The meeting approved the establishment of a new general hospital in Peshawar. The chief minister directed authorities to execute the project on a fast-track basis to address growing healthcare needs in the provincial capital.

He also approved the inclusion of an electric bus project for public transport on the Peshawar Ring Road. In addition, he approved a feasibility study for a second Ring Road to help ease increasing traffic congestion in the city.

The chief minister directed parliamentarians to submit constituency-based development proposals to the Chief Minister Secretariat by March 15 for consideration in the upcoming ADP. He emphasized that authorities must prioritize projects based on public need and measurable development impact.

He said the forthcoming ADP will align with provincial development requirements and ensure timely completion of ongoing schemes.
