Govt Launches Free Online Technology Courses for Students

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MOFEPT), in partnership with the Cisco Networking Academy, has launched a series of free online technology courses aimed at improving digital skills across Pakistan.

The initiative offers six online courses across four key domains: cybersecurity, information technology, artificial intelligence, and networking. The courses are self-paced and allow participants to access learning materials anytime and from anywhere.

According to the official announcement, learners will receive online support from qualified instructors to assist with questions and guidance throughout the course duration. Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded a digital certificate with a QR code along with a digital badge issued through Credly.

The program follows a progressive learning structure, allowing participants to begin with entry-level courses and gradually move toward more advanced skills at their own pace.

To be eligible, applicants must have basic background knowledge in IT or networking and must be studying in Grade 9 or above.

Courses Offered

The Cisco MOFEPT Academy is offering the following courses:

  • Introduction to Cybersecurity
  • Introduction to Modern AI
  • Digital Safety and Security Awareness
  • Introduction to IoT and Digital Transformation
  • Networking Basics
  • Industrial Networking Essentials

All courses include certification and a digital badge. Participants must score at least 60 percent to qualify for certification. Each course has a defined completion deadline, and failure to complete the course within the specified timeframe will result in automatic cancellation.

Interested candidates can apply by scanning the QR code shared in the official materials or by visiting the MOFEPT skills portal. The deadline to apply and complete the courses is March 8, 2026.
