Quaid-e-Azam University Orders Immediate Security Measures

Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) has ordered immediate and strict security enforcement across its campus and student residential areas amid ongoing regional tensions, university officials said Friday in an official notice.

The directive was issued on February 27, 2026, by the Office of the Registrar and calls for tightened security arrangements throughout the university grounds, academic departments, hostels, and staff housing.

The notice was sent to key university officials, including deans, department heads, wardens, and administrative officers, to ensure full compliance.

In the official notice, all security personnel were instructed to conduct strict checks at all security posts and entry and exit points. Vigilance is to be increased at all times, and existing security procedures must be followed without exception.

Hostels will receive reinforced security, particularly during evenings and at night, with wardens and staff expected to remain fully alert and compliant.

Security officers are also instructed to closely monitor student bus stops, transport routes, and parking areas, with random checks permitted. Loitering at bus stops will not be allowed, and unnecessary gatherings are to be discouraged to prevent any untoward incidents.

The notice requires that any suspicious movement, unattended object, or unusual activity be reported immediately to the Security Officer, Campus Manager, or Resident Officer, who must then inform local police authorities without delay.

All concerned officers were directed to treat the order with “utmost urgency” and ensure proper enforcement across campus.
