Cement dispatches increased by 12.53 percent in February 2026. Total cement dispatches during the month stood at 4.199 million tons, compared to 3.732 million tons dispatched in the same month of the last fiscal year.
According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), local cement dispatches during February 2026 amounted to 3.467 million tons, compared to 3.2 million tons in February 2025, reflecting an increase of 8.35 percent. Export dispatches also rose by 37.72 percent, with volumes increasing from 531,736 tons in February 2025 to 732,333 tons in February 2026.
In February 2026, North-based cement mills dispatched 2.856 million tons of cement, marking a 7.66 percent increase compared to 2.653 million tons in February 2025. South-based mills dispatched 1.34 million tons during February 2026, up 24.50 percent from 1.079 million tons in the same month last year.
North-based mills dispatched 2.856 million tons in domestic markets in February 2026, up 9.72 percent from 2.603 million tons in February 2025. South-based mills dispatched 611,239 tons in local markets during February 2026, a modest increase of 2.35 percent compared to 597,177 tons in February 2025.
There were no exports from North-based mills during February 2026. Exports from the South increased by 51.95 percent, rising to 732,333 tons in February 2026 from 481,956 tons in the same month last year.
During the first eight months of the current fiscal year, total cement dispatches (domestic and exports) reached 34.798 million tons, 10.86 percent higher than 31.388 million tons dispatched during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Domestic dispatches during this period stood at 28.503 million tons, compared to 25.465 million tons in the same period last year, reflecting an increase of 11.93 percent. Export dispatches rose by 6.27 percent to 6.295 million tons during July 2025–February 2026, compared to 5.924 million tons in the same period of the last fiscal year.
North-based mills dispatched 23.745 million tons domestically during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, up 13.15 percent from 20.985 million tons during July 2024–February 2025. However, exports from the North declined by 27.07 percent to 803,306 tons during July 2025–February 2026, compared to 1.101 million tons in the same period last year. Total dispatches by North-based mills increased by 11.15 percent to 24.548 million tons during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, up from 22.086 million tons in the corresponding period last year.
Domestic dispatches by South-based mills during July 2025–February 2026 stood at 4.758 million tons, reflecting an increase of 6.21 percent over 4.480 million tons dispatched in the same period last fiscal year. Exports from the South rose by 13.89 percent to 5.491 million tons, compared to 4.822 million tons in the corresponding period last year. Total dispatches by South-based mills increased by 10.19 percent to 10.250 million tons during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, up from 9.302 million tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
A spokesperson for the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association stated that the upcoming budget should include incentives for the cement industry to boost off-take and make the commodity more affordable for consumers. He added that such measures would help the sector utilize idle capacity and achieve economies of scale.
