Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Keeps The Slim Profile But With a Much Larger Battery

Motorola has introduced the Edge 70 Fusion, a follow-up to the Edge 60 Fusion. While the standard Edge 70 focused on extreme thinness at 6.0mm, it reduced its battery capacity to 4,800 mAh. The new Fusion model takes a different approach by maintaining a much larger battery while keeping a slim profile.

Design and Display

The Moto Edge 70 Fusion features a quad-curved 6.78-inch OLED display with a 1272p+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches up to 5,200 nits, exceeding even the Edge 70’s 4,500 nits.

The front panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. The device carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering protection against dust, water submersion, and high-pressure water jets. It has also passed MIL-STD-810H durability testing.

The phone is available in multiple Pantone-inspired color options, including Blue Surf, Silhouette, and Country Air, with fabric-inspired finishes on the rear.

Internals and Software

The Edge 70 Fusion is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, manufactured on TSMC’s N4 process. It features Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A520 CPU cores, delivering a 15% performance improvement over the previous model. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 810 GPU.

This marks a shift from the previous Fusion model, which used the Dimensity 7300 processor.

Cameras

On the rear, the device includes a Pantone-validated dual camera system. The main camera uses a 50MP Sony Lytia 710 sensor with 1.0µm pixels and optical image stabilization. It is paired with a 13MP ultra-wide camera offering a 120-degree field of view and macro functionality.

For selfies, the phone features a 32MP front-facing camera.

Battery and Pricing

The Moto Edge 70 Fusion houses a 5,200 mAh battery and supports 68W wired fast charging. Wireless charging is not supported.

Motorola will also offer a different variant for India. That version measures 7.99mm in thickness and includes a larger 7,000 mAh battery. European markets will receive the slimmer 7.2mm model.

Pricing and availability details have not yet been announced.
