Motorola has officially introduced the Razr Fold at MWC 2026 after previewing the device at CES earlier this year. The Razr Fold marks the company’s first book-style foldable and also comes with a highly advanced camera setup, which should beat other foldables as per Motorola’s claims.
The Razr Fold features an 8.1-inch internal LTPO display with a 2K resolution of 2,484 × 2,232 and a peak refresh rate of 120Hz. The external screen measures 2,520 × 1,080 and supports a refresh rate up to 165Hz. Both displays are compatible with Dolby Vision.
Motorola has focused on brightness levels. The main foldable screen reaches up to 6,200 nits peak brightness, while the external display peaks at 6,000 nits. For comparison, the Pixel 10 Fold Pro offers 3,000 nits on both screens, and many competing foldables feature lower internal brightness levels.
The device measures 4.6mm thick when unfolded and 9.9mm when closed. Although Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold is thinner at 4.2mm open and 8.9mm closed, it carries a smaller 4,400 mAh battery.
The Razr Fold is available in Blackened Blue with a woven piqué finish and Lily White with a satin texture.
The foldable runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. It also includes a dedicated liquid-cooling system, which is unheard of among foldables and even regular smartphones, mostly. It is designed to maintain performance during demanding tasks and gaming sessions.
Motorola supports its latest Moto Pen Ultra stylus on the Razr Fold.
The Razr Fold includes five cameras. The primary rear camera uses a 50MP sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and 3.5 degrees of optical image stabilization. It works alongside a multi-spectral 3-in-1 light sensor to enhance color accuracy.
The ultrawide camera features a 50MP sensor with a 122-degree field of view and macro photography support. The 50MP periscope telephoto lens provides 3x optical zoom and up to 100x SuperZoom using image cropping and AI processing.
For selfies, the device offers a 32MP internal camera capable of recording 4K video and a 20MP external camera. Both use f/2.4 lenses.
Motorola claims the Razr Fold has achieved the highest DXOMARK score among foldables, making it the best foldable camera on paper. DXOMARK is a France-based benchmarking lab that evaluates image quality and provides consulting services to manufacturers
The Razr Fold is powered by a 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, only second-highest after the Honor Magic V6, which has a whopping 6,660 mAh unit. It supports up to 80W wired charging with Motorola’s TurboPower charger, sold separately, and up to 50W wireless charging.
Motorola Razr Fold Costs Around $2,318. The Razr Fold is expected to launch in North America in the coming months.
