The Punjab government has finalized preparations to launch Phase-III of the Lahore Development Program to address drainage and water supply issues across the provincial capital.
Officials said the third phase will begin in the next financial year and will focus on areas that did not receive full coverage under Phase-I. The expansion aims to complete infrastructure gaps in several neighborhoods.
Under the new phase, authorities will install drainage and water supply networks in Nishtar Town, Ganj Bakhsh Town, Ravi Town and Wagah Town. The design also includes laying sewer lines linked directly to streets to prevent water accumulation and overflow at the local level.
During Phase-I, the government laid new sewerage and water pipelines in multiple parts of the city. Construction activities under Phase-II are currently ongoing in various zones.
Through Phase-III, the government plans to extend drainage and clean water infrastructure to settlements where basic services remain incomplete.
