Pakistan Closes Selected Air Routes in Karachi and Lahore

Pakistan has temporarily closed selected air traffic service routes in the Karachi and Lahore flight information regions.

According to a Notice to Airmen issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), specific ATS route segments in the Karachi (OPKR) and Lahore (OPLR) flight information regions will remain unavailable for commercial operations from March 3 to March 31.

The restrictions will apply daily between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. The NOTAM states that the selected route segments are being closed for “operational reasons” during the specified hours.

An official said flight operations will continue through alternative routes to ensure domestic and international services remain operational during the restricted period.

The decision comes amid the ongoing regional security situation, as flight operations across parts of the region have faced disruptions in recent days.
