CM KP Launches Safe City Project in Peshawar

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi on Wednesday inaugurated the Safe City Project in Peshawar, completed at a cost of Rs. 2.23 billion.

The project introduces a modern and integrated surveillance system aimed at improving security monitoring across the provincial capital.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, attended by Inspector General of Police (IGP) and other officials, Sohail Afridi said the Safe City project would help strengthen the law and order situation in the province. Under the project, authorities have installed 711 surveillance cameras at 133 key locations across Peshawar to enable coordinated monitoring of the city.

Sohail Afridi said Safe City systems in Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, and Lakki Marwat are in the final stages and will become operational soon. He added that the provincial government will also launch Safe City projects in divisional headquarters and merged districts to further strengthen security arrangements through modern technology.

The chief minister said the provincial government remains committed to protecting the life and property of citizens by introducing advanced security initiatives.
