Pakistani stocks staged another big session today with the KSE-100 index gaining over 5,400 points after equities continued to recover from last week’s jitters.
The 100-Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rose by 5,433 points or 3.49 percent to close at 161,210 points as compared to 155,777 points on the last trading day.
The benchmark index during mid-session rose by 5,699 points to as high as 161,476 before easing towards the 161, 000 level.
A total of 402 million shares were traded during the day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs. 29 billion at close.
As many as 567 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 350 of them recorded gains and 78 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 139 companies remained unchanged.
