Saudi Arabia has announced the Eid Al Fitr 2026 holiday schedule for government and private sector employees across the Kingdom.
According to the announcement, the holiday will begin on Wednesday, March 18, corresponding to 29 Ramadan 1447 AH, and will continue for four days. Authorities stated that official work will resume on Sunday, March 22.
The final confirmation of Eid Al Fitr will depend on the sighting of the Shawwal crescent. Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has also announced its Eid Al Fitr holidays for federal government and private sector employees.
For federal government institutions, the holiday will start on Thursday, March 19, 2026, and continue until Sunday, March 22, 2026. Government offices will reopen on Monday, March 23, 2026.
For the private sector, the holiday will run from Thursday, March 19, 2026, to Saturday, March 21, 2026. Employees who normally work on Sundays will return to work on Sunday, March 22.
Authorities in the UAE added that if Ramadan completes 30 days, the private sector holiday will be extended until Sunday, March 22, 2026. The announcement applies across the UAE in line with the country’s official public and private sector holiday guidelines.
