TCL introduced several products at MWC 2026, including the new Tab A1 Plus Android tablet.
The TCL Tab A1 Plus features a 12.2-inch IPS LCD with a 1,600 x 2,400 resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also available in a version equipped with TCL’s NxtPaper technology, which adds a matte display coating. The unit tested included the NxtPaper variant.
Bezels appear thinner compared to previous TCL tablets. The updated NxtPaper key now lights up and allows users to switch between three display modes.
Regular mode delivers standard color output for general use. Color Paper reduces saturation for a paper-like reading experience, while Ink Paper mode switches to grayscale for an e-Ink-style display. The tablet supports the T-Pen Pro stylus with up to 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity.
The device uses a metal unibody design and includes a circular rear camera module with an 8MP camera and LED flash. A 5MP front-facing camera is also included. The tablet carries an IP54 rating for dust protection and water resistance. Although listed at 542 grams, it feels lighter in hand.
The Tab A1 Plus runs on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Storage can be expanded using a microSDXC card.
It is powered by an 8,000 mAh battery with support for 20W charging.
On the software side, the tablet boots Android 16 with TCL’s custom interface. The experience is close to stock Android and includes pre-installed Google applications.
TCL has not announced pricing or availability details for the Tab A1 Plus.
