Govt’s National Job Portal Reportedly Down Despite Upgrade

Pakistan’s National Government Job Portal (NJP) is reportedly facing major access issues, with users complaining that the website crashes repeatedly when they attempt to create accounts, despite a recent government push to modernize the platform.

The problem has triggered frustration among job seekers trying to register on the portal, with screenshots circulating online showing an error message stating “Web Page Blocked!” when the NJP registration page is opened.

Users say the issue has effectively locked them out of the system at a time when several government vacancies are being processed through the portal.

The reported downtime is drawing attention because the government recently upgraded the NJP, converting it into an AI-driven recruitment platform as part of broader efforts to streamline hiring and improve employment services.

Some departments have also begun acknowledging the disruption publicly. The National Forensic Agency (NFA) has issued an official notice advising applicants to use an alternative process if the NJP is inaccessible.

According to the notice, candidates may download application forms from the NFA website and submit hard copies along with the required documents, including a Pay Order and Police Character Certificate, on or before March 7, 2026, in case the portal cannot be accessed due to ongoing technical issues.

The situation has raised questions about the portal’s reliability after the upgrade, particularly as online-only recruitment systems increasingly become the main gateway for government job applications.
