Another Province Closes Educational Institutes After Punjab

Following Punjab government’s announcement of a province-wide shutdown of educational institutions, the Balochistan government has also ordered the temporary closure of all public and private educational institutes as well, citing the ongoing Middle East war and the need to remain prepared for any emergency situation.

According to the provincial Schools Education Department, schools, colleges, and other educational institutions in Balochistan will remain closed from March 9 to March 23, 2026.

Officials said the decision is a precautionary step meant to strengthen administrative readiness and help authorities respond effectively if conditions worsen.

The closure, officials added, is also intended to ease potential public difficulties linked to transportation and movement during the current situation.

Despite the shutdown, the Education Department said key academic and administrative work will continue. The ongoing admission campaign, the digital census of schools, and any examinations scheduled during the closure period will go ahead as planned.

Authorities have instructed concerned officers and staff to ensure these activities are conducted smoothly and in line with departmental guidelines.
