United Arab Emirates has urged citizens and residents not to stockpile food, assuring the public that consumer goods and food products remain widely available in markets at stable and reasonable prices.
During a visit to the Al Aweer Fruit and Vegetable Market, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, said the country’s food supply chain remains stable, with products continuously arriving from different parts of the world.
“Goods from around the world are available in large quantities to meet the main needs of consumers in the country,” the minister said, urging the public to avoid hoarding and to buy only what they need.
He added that markets are currently witnessing an abundance of fruits and vegetables, noting that prices of some items have declined in recent days due to the steady arrival of fresh agricultural shipments from international suppliers.
During the inspection tour, Bin Touq observed the unloading of new food consignments and met with traders who confirmed that additional shipments of essential food products are expected to arrive in the coming days.
Traders said the increased supply would further strengthen market availability and help maintain the downward trend in prices, benefiting consumers.
Bin Touq emphasized that the current market situation reflects strong availability of food products and consumer goods, adding that there is no shortage of supplies in the UAE.
The
He also urged shoppers to remain calm and avoid excessive buying or storing of food, stressing that products remain easily accessible in markets across the country.
The UAE Ministry of Economy will continue to closely monitor market conditions, gather consumer feedback, and address any challenges to ensure the smooth availability of goods nationwide.
