PSX Posts Its 2nd Highest Single-Day Recovery After Historic Oil Reversal

Pakistani stocks staged a big rebound today with the KSE-100 index gaining nearly 10,000 points after equities recovered from Monday’s jitters.

According to Arif Habib Limited (AHL), this is the second-highest recovery posted by the main bourse.

The 100-Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rose by 9,696 points or 6.62 percent to close at 156,177 points as compared to 146,480 points on the last trading day.

The benchmark index during mid-session rose by 11,874 points to as high as 158,354 before easing towards the 156,000 level.

A total of 289.65 million shares were traded during the day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs. 27.4 billion at close.

As many as 567 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 388 of them recorded gains and 43 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 136 companies remained unchanged.
