Punjab Launches Online E-Stamp System

The Punjab government has ended the use of traditional security stamp papers and launched major digital reforms in the stamping system under the Board of Revenue.

According to sources, citizens can now pay stamp duty and obtain stamps completely online, eliminating the need to visit banks to purchase stamp papers.

Under the new system, citizens can obtain e-stamps through the official government portal from home. Payments can also be made through a mobile application, and after OTP verification, the e-stamp will be issued immediately.

E-stamps can be downloaded and printed on ordinary white paper, which is expected to eliminate the use of fake or illegal stamp papers.

According to the Punjab Land Records Authority, the e-stamping system will improve transparency, convenience, and the speed of service delivery.

Citizens will be able to obtain stamp papers of all values through the online portal. Officials say the initiative will make the process easier for the public while strengthening security and reforms in the stamp paper system.

Previously, citizens had to visit banks or government stores to obtain stamp papers. The process required selecting the required stamp paper value, paying the stamp duty in cash or through a bank check, and then receiving the original security stamp paper.

Under the new digital system, these steps can now be completed online through the portal or mobile app from home, improving both transparency and convenience.
