The Punjab School Education Department has directed the installation of a “Pink Button” emergency alert system in all public and private schools across Punjab, citing the current security situation.
According to guidelines issued on Thursday, the system will serve as an emergency alert mechanism to enhance security at educational institutions throughout the province.
Under the new directive, all schools in Punjab must install the Pink Button system. The department has also made it mandatory for teachers and students to register on the system to ensure it functions effectively during emergencies.
The department has ordered strengthened security measures at all schools and instructed Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of district education authorities to ensure the activation of the Pink Button system as soon as possible.
Officials emphasized that the move aims to improve safety and rapid emergency response in schools.
The Punjab School Education Department warned that strict action will be taken against institutions that fail to implement the Pink Button system in accordance with the government’s instructions.
