The Pakistani rupee (PKR) closed in green against the US Dollar (USD) for the 118th consecutive day on Thursday.
Meanwhile, it posted gains against most of the other major currencies during today’s session.
The PKR closed at 279.32 after gaining three paisas against the US Dollar today.
Traders reported a good few days this week as the federal government recently confirmed that it will not be directly impacted by the Gulf situation in the long run. Dollar inflows and upcoming remittances boost due to Eid-ul-Fitr will help the market keep its position, a trader told ProPakistani.
PKR closed in green against the UAE Dirham (AED) but in red against the Saudi Riyal (SAR).
Meanwhile, it gained four paisas against the British Pound (GBP) and Rs. 1.80 against the Euro (EUR).

It gained 66 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD) and 29 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
