Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators Pull Off Major Trade Deal Ahead of PSL 11

Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators completed a four-player swap on the opening day of the trade window for the highly anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3.

Multan Sultans brought in Ahmed Daniyal and Jahanzaib Sultan, while Quetta Gladiators received Faisal Akram and Arafat Minhas as both franchises adjusted their squads ahead of the new season.

Daniyal had previously been retained in the Gold category by Multan Sultans, formerly Sialkot Stallionz, ahead of the historic PSL players auction. During the same auction, the franchise also signed Jahanzaib for Rs. 6 million.

Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators had picked Faisal Akram and Arafat Minhas for Rs. 12.5 million and Rs. 11 million, respectively.

With the trade now completed, the two franchises have effectively swapped the four players, making key adjustments to their squads for the landmark 11th edition of the PSL, which will feature eight teams for the first time since the tournament began in 2016.

The development came just hours after the league announced the opening of the PSL 11 trade window, which will remain active until March 18.

During this period, the eight participating franchises are permitted to conduct player trades in accordance with tournament regulations and salary cap rules.

The league allows three types of trades.

• The Player for Player trade allows two franchises to exchange players with similar salary cap values.
• The Player for Money trade allows a franchise to trade a player in exchange for an agreed financial amount.
• The Player for Player and Money trade allows teams to exchange players, with one side also receiving an additional agreed payment as part of the deal.

All eight franchises are required to complete trades within their respective salary caps, which will only be finalized after approval from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
