The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms in Karachi and other parts of Sindh from March 18 to 19.
The PMD stated that a “westerly wave” is expected to enter the western parts of the country starting Tuesday. Under its influence, Karachi is likely to experience partly cloudy weather with chances of thunderstorms and rain on March 18 and 19.
Rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and isolated hailstorms are expected in several districts of Sindh, including Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allah Yar, Umerkot, Tharparker, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Nosheroferoz, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Dadu on Wednesday and Thursday.
Heavier rainfall with occasional gaps is forecast in Larkana, Qamber Shahdad Kot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, and Sukkur during the same period.
The PMD also warned that lightning strikes may occur at isolated locations and advised farmers to manage their crops accordingly.
The PMD further stated that rain and thunderstorms are expected in other parts of the country from March 17 to March 20. Upper regions are likely to experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, while Balochistan and nearby areas may see rain, wind, and thunderstorms during the Eid period.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and thunderstorms, along with snowfall in higher areas are expected from March 17 to March 20.
Punjab is also expected to receive rainfall, including Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Khushab, Noorpur Thal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Okara, and Kasur.
Rain is also expected in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Meanwhile, in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, rain and snowfall are forecast in several areas, particularly in higher regions.
