Major PSL 11 Venue in Doubt Amid Security Concerns

The 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) fixture between Peshawar Zalmi and RawalPindiz scheduled to be played at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar is reportedly in doubt due to security concerns raised by the Australian government.

According to Australian journalist Daniel Cherny, the match currently scheduled to be played on 28 March 2026, has reported that the game is “likely” to be relocated.

The Imran Khan Cricket Stadium is currently hosting the National T20 Cup 2026.

The development is being linked to the Australian government’s travel advice, which discourages travel to Peshawar, a factor that could affect the participation of Australian players involved in the contest.

Reports suggest Australian players have been advised not to travel to Peshawar for the fixture. The game features notable Australian names, including Aaron Hardie in Zalmi’s squad and Jake Fraser-McGurk for RawalPindiz, and their availability for a match in Peshawar has become uncertain following guidance relayed through Cricket Australia.

Despite the speculation, the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) official schedule, as of 18 March 2026, still shows the match in Peshawar.

However, talks are understood to be ongoing, with officials weighing options in light of the “recent situation” and travel advisories issued internationally.

No formal announcement has been made yet regarding a venue change.

PSL 11 is set to get underway on 26 March 2026 with the opening clash between Hyderabad Kingsmen and defending champions Lahore Qalandars at the Gaddafi Stadium.
