Gold in Pakistan took a sharp dip on Thursday, mirroring a slump in global markets.
The price of one tola fell by Rs. 24,300 to Rs. 499,462, while 10 grams dropped Rs. 20,833 to Rs. 428,208, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
On Wednesday, gold had remained largely steady at Rs. 523,762 per tola.
The international market, meanwhile, saw gold prices decline by $243, bringing the rate to $4,767 per ounce, with an additional $20 premium.
Silver did not escape the downward trend either, slipping Rs. 760 to Rs. 7,734 per tola.
