Dubai Opens Applications for Hamdan bin Mohammed Scholarship

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has announced the opening of applications for the third cohort of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Scholarship Program for the 2026-27 academic year.

Eligible Emirati students can apply via the ‘Emirati’ section on the Dubai Now app until June 30, 2026.

With a total budget of Dh1.1 billion, the program offers 100 fully funded scholarships annually to outstanding graduates from public and private schools across Dubai.

The scholarships support bachelor’s degrees in future-focused fields, aiming to develop strategic skills and leadership capabilities to contribute to Dubai’s long-term growth.

Launched in 2024 under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the initiative is aligned with Dubai’s Economic Agenda (D33), Social Agenda 33, and Education 33 strategy.

The program prepares high-achieving Emirati students to become future leaders and innovators capable of driving sustainable development.

Over the first two years, approximately 70% of scholarship recipients enrolled at universities ranked among the top 100 globally, pursuing specializations such as computer science, AI, digital technologies, business, finance, medicine, law, and social sciences.

Eligibility requires applicants to:

  • Be Emirati students who completed high school in 2023-24, 2024-25, or 2025-26
  • Hold a Dubai family book
  • Have not received other scholarships
  • Have a conditional or unconditional offer from an eligible university
  • Commit to full-time study abroad

Dr. Amna Almaazmi, CEO of Growth and Human Development at KHDA, said the program “equips outstanding Emirati students with global exposure, leadership skills, and specialized knowledge to contribute meaningfully to the UAE’s development journey.”
