Peshawar Zalmi have bolstered their squad for the upcoming 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) by signing Zimbabwe’s rising star Brian Bennett.
The development was confirmed by franchise owner Javed Afridi in a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he welcomed the young batter to the Zalmi setup.
Bennett has built a reputation as one of Zimbabwe’s most promising limited-overs players. The right-handed batter has featured in 58 T20 Internationals, scoring 1,888 runs at an impressive strike rate of over 143, including 12 half-centuries and a century.
His recent performances have further strengthened his profile. Bennett finished among the top run-scorers in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, where he accumulated 292 runs in just six matches. He maintained an outstanding average of 146 while striking at over 134, registering three fifties during the tournament.
At just 22, Bennett is now set to make his debut in the PSL. Notably, this will also mark his first appearance in any overseas franchise league, making his inclusion a significant step in his career.
Zalmi have been active in the transfer window ahead of PSL 11. The franchise recently added Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim to their squad. He joins fellow Bangladeshi players Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam, further strengthening the team’s international lineup.
