Gulf War Expected to Resume As Iran Rejects US Ceasefire Talks

Iran has rejected a US-backed ceasefire proposal and continues its military operations against Israel and Gulf Arab states.

According to Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency, Tehran considers the idea of indirect negotiations proposed by US President Donald Trump as “Illogical” at this stage. Bloomberg also reported the same.

The report said Iran will only consider ending the war once its strategic objectives are achieved, ruling out an immediate ceasefire.

Iran’s conditions include:

  1. Immediate end to attacks and assassinations on Iran
  2. Establishment of “concrete guarantees” against future US attacks
  3. Clear determination and guaranteed payment” for war damages
  4. International recognition of Iran’s “authority” over Strait of Hormuz
  5. An end to the war across all fronts, including for all Iranian proxies in the region

The US earlier drafted a 15-point peace framework, delivered to Tehran via Pakistan to contain the war it launched alongside Israel nearly a month ago. However, major differences remain between the two sides.

Following Iran’s stance, global oil markets reacted sharply, with Brent crude prices climbing close to $100 per barrel.

Still, military activity continues to intensify. Iran launched fresh missile and drone strikes targeting Israel, while Saudi Arabia intercepted a drone in its eastern region. In Kuwait, an attack hit a fuel tank at the country’s main airport, causing a fire.

The US proposal reportedly includes curbs on Iran’s nuclear program, renewed oversight by the International Atomic Energy Agency, limits on missile development, and guarantees for safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. In return, Iran would receive relief from economic sanctions.

President Trump has insisted that any agreement must permanently prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons or enriching nuclear material, even for civilian use.

Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, seen by some as a potential negotiator, denied that any talks have taken place. In a statement, he warned that Iran is closely tracking US military movements and cautioned against testing the country’s resolve.

  • I think either everyone has lost their marbles or we have the worst clowns incharge.

Iran openly said they never wanted nuclear weapons. Had they wanted 1 they’d have gotten it over 40 years ago.

Another wmds nonsense were wasting billions if not trillions on.
