Pakistan has issued a new directive for foreign airlines operating flights to the country amid evolving fuel management measures.
According to a NOTAM issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), all foreign carriers have been instructed to carry sufficient fuel for their return journeys instead of relying on refueling within Pakistan.
Aviation sources said the development has already begun affecting flight operations, with a foreign airline flight from Karachi to Doha forced to land in Muscat for refueling on Wednesday.
Sources added that airlines carrying additional fuel are facing weight limitations, resulting in some passenger baggage and cargo being left behind.
