Authorities in Punjab have stepped up action against motorists driving without valid licenses as part of an ongoing province-wide campaign to enforce traffic laws.
According to a spokesperson, Muhammad Waqas Nazir has directed all districts to further tighten license checks to ensure strict compliance with road safety regulations.
Data shared by officials shows that more than 117,000 unlicensed drivers were issued challans across the province in the past month alone.
Major cities saw significant enforcement activity, with over 11,000 individuals fined in Lahore, more than 20,000 in Faisalabad, and over 8,000 in Rawalpindi.
Officials said the campaign is part of broader efforts to improve road discipline and reduce violations that often contribute to traffic congestion and accidents.
DIG Traffic Muhammad Waqas Nazir warned that driving without a valid license is a punishable offense under the law. He added that offenders not only face fines but can also be subjected to further legal action depending on the severity of the violation.
He urged citizens to obtain proper driving licenses without delay and to adhere to traffic rules to avoid penalties and contribute to safer roads across the province.
